The Bible says that Abraham was righteous. But do you know that his
nephew Lot was righteous too? (2 Peter 2:7–8) Yet, both men lived very
different lives. Although they both lived under God’s grace some 400 years
before the law was given, Abraham was very blessed, whereas Lot lost a lot!</div>
<div class="yiv0355716809content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380262768554_1770">
Both men had large herds and flocks. When their herdsmen started quarrelling
over space, Abraham took the initiative to make peace. He even let Lot pick
the lands that he wanted. Both men were righteous, but one was more gracious
than the other.</div>
<div class="yiv0355716809content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380262768554_1767">
Lot picked the well-watered plain of Jordan, where the cities of Sodom and
Gomorrah were. He dwelt there and pitched his tent as far as Sodom. Eventually,
he lived in Sodom. Now, Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible represent a sinful
lifestyle. Some Christians think, “Since I am righteous by faith and under God’s
grace, I can live a sinful lifestyle.”</div>
<div class="yiv0355716809content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380262768554_1772">
Well, let’s learn from Lot. He first saw Sodom, then his feet walked toward it
and finally he went into it. I like what a great man of God said: “Sin will take you
farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay and cost you
more than you want to pay.” What did Lot end up paying?</div>
<div class="yiv0355716809content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380262768554_1773">
He was captured when four kings plundered Sodom and Gomorrah. And even
after Abraham rescued him with the help of God, he did not learn his lesson.
He went back to Sodom. Some Christians live from one bail-out to another. God
delivers them from, say, debt, and they go right back to borrowing money or gambling!
Sodom and Gomorrah were eventually destroyed. Lot escaped with only
the clothes on his back and even lost his wife in the process.</div>
<div class="yiv0355716809content_big">
Beloved, you <strong>are</strong> the righteousness of God in Christ. When you truly understand
what Jesus did to make you the righteousness of God, it will cause you to
fall out of love with sin and fall in love with God. Then, it will not be hard to have
a heart for God, as Abraham did, and like Abraham, be blessed in all things!</div>

<div class="yiv541693171content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380182239018_1712">
God wants us to walk as wise men and women, and not as fools. (Ephesians
5:15) Now, He will not tell us to walk in wisdom without showing
us how. That is why His Word goes on to say, “Therefore do not be
unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”</div>
<div class="yiv541693171content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380182239018_1711">
So what is the will of God? The next two verses tell us how to identify it: “And
do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and
making melody in your heart to the Lord ”. (Ephesians 5:18–19)</div>
<div class="yiv541693171content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380182239018_1708">
As you allow yourself to be filled with the Spirit by lifting songs of praise to
the Lord, singing or speaking (God knows some of us can’t sing!) psalms, hymns
and spiritual songs, and making melody in your heart to the Lord, God promises
that you will know what His will is for your situation. You will then have the
wisdom to decide wisely what to do next.</div>
<div class="yiv541693171content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380182239018_1735">
I have found this to be true in my own life. Whenever I face a difficult situation,
the more I think about it, the more confused I get. The more I try my best
to come up with a smart solution, the further the answer seems to get from me.
But when I turn away from my problem and turn to God, singing in the Spirit
and praising Him, I get a clearer perspective of the problem when I come back
to it later. I also find an inner prompting to make certain decisions which in the
end, turn out to be better than anything I could have come up with on my own.</div>
<div class="yiv541693171content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1380182239018_1736">
So my friend, lift up songs of praise to the Lord, whether times are good or
bad. For when you fill your mouth with praises to God, He will lead you and guide
you in all the affairs of your life. Even if you are stuck with a problem, He will
show you the way to go or make a way out for you. Either way, you will get the
wisdom and help that you need!</div>

When the Father raised Jesus from the dead, we who are in Christ were raised
with Him. In other words, we are now seated with Him at God’s right hand in the
heavenly places, “far above all principality and power and might and dominion,
and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to
come”! (Ephesians 1:21) Adam never had this position. So through Jesus’ death
and resurrection, we have received so much more.</div>
<div class="yiv9274738971content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_3863">
In the Old Testament, we read of how God brought the Israelites out of bondage
in Egypt into a land flowing with milk and honey. The devil thought that he
could foil God’s plan by putting giants in the promised land to stop the Israelites
from inheriting it. But God outsmarted the devil. He allowed the giants to build
their homes and cities, dig wells and cultivate crops until the right time came.
Then, He brought the Israelites into the land and evicted the giants!</div>

So the Israelites ended up inheriting large beautiful cities which they did not
build, houses full of all good things which they did not fill, hewn-out wells which
they did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees which they did not plant! (Deuteronomy
6:10–11) Although the devil tried to prevent God’s plan for His people
from coming to pass, they ended up receiving so much more!</div>

<div class="yiv3601770719content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_2997">
Notice that the verse says that angels are “heeding the <strong>voice</strong> of His word”.
Now, who gives voice to God’s Word? We do! Each time we speak God’s
Word, we give voice to His Word. And when angels hear His Word
given voice, they respond!</div>
<div class="yiv3601770719content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_3000">
The Bible says that at the end of Daniel’s three weeks of fasting and praying
for an answer from God, the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel and said to him, “I
have come because of your words.” (Daniel 10:12)</div>
<div class="yiv3601770719content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_3028">
So when angels hear you saying, “Thank You, Father, no evil shall befall me
nor shall any plague come near my dwelling,” (Psalm 91:10) they will come to
your aid because you are giving voice to God’s Word. Even if you cannot quote
the verse perfectly, they can still come to your rescue.</div>
<div class="yiv3601770719content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_3029">
This was what happened to a lady in the United States. While walking home
after an evening church service, she was attacked from behind by a man and
dragged toward a dark corner in an alley. In that frantic state, she remembered
only one word from that evening’s sermon. So she shouted, “Feathers! Feathers!”
Her attacker released her and fled!</div>
<div class="yiv3601770719content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_3030">
Feathers? What did she mean? She was actually referring to Psalm 91:4 —
“He shall cover you with His <strong>feathers</strong>, and under His wings you shall take refuge”.
In that state of panic, she remembered only one word — “feathers”, and it was
enough to cause her attacker to flee. You see, it is not your ability to quote an entire
verse perfectly that releases God’s power, but faith in His Word and His love for
you. And one word from Him is enough to send your enemies scurrying away.</div>
<div class="yiv3601770719content_big">
However, if you know God’s Word by heart but refuse to proclaim it, the power
of His Word cannot be released. The Bible does not say that angels heed His Word.
No, it says that “His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the

Most people quote only the first part of Hebrews 11:6 — “without faith
it is impossible to please Him”. Yet, it goes on to say, “for he who comes
to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who
diligently seek Him”. In other words, the faith that pleases God is the kind of
faith that believes that God exists and that He is a <strong>rewarder</strong>.</div>

The Bible also says that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence

God turned things around for Ruth, the Moabite widow, when she believed
the Lord and made Him her God. (Ruth 1:16) The Bible tells us that she was
given a “full reward” by the Lord when she came under His wings for refuge.
(Ruth 2:12) Not only did He give her protection, He also gave her abundant provision,
exceeding favor and a glorious redemption. (Ruth 2:9–17, 3:11, 4:10–13)</div>

When Rahab, the harlot of Jericho, heard reports of how the Lord had opened
up the Red Sea for the children of Israel, she believed that “He is God in heaven
above and on earth beneath”. (Joshua 2:9–11) Though Rahab had not personally
witnessed the miracles, she believed God and hid the Jewish spies from their pursuers.
(Joshua 2:4–6) Because of her faith, she not only did not perish with those
who did not believe (Joshua 6:25, Hebrews 11:31), but she was also given a place
in the “hall of faith” in Hebrews 11.</div>

I believe that when you pray in the Spirit, that is, in tongues, a shield goes up
all around you — a <strong>watery</strong> shield. But why do I call it a “watery” shield? Let
me share with you what the Lord showed me.</div>
<div class="yiv8844184819content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_2536">
Once, I was meditating on Ephesians 6:16 — “above all, taking the shield of
faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one”.
At first, I thought of a Roman soldier’s wooden shield. But three words kept
repeating themselves in my mind: “quench” and “fiery darts”. Then, the Lord said,
“Son, if it is a wooden shield, the fiery darts will burn it up.” He showed me a
watery shield instead, one which was able to <strong>quench</strong> the fiery darts.</div>
<div class="yiv8844184819content_big">
You may ask, “Where did the water come from?”</div>
<div class="yiv8844184819content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_2537">
Remember that Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,
out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38) The next verse says,
“But this He spoke concerning the Spirit...” (John 7:39)</div>
<div class="yiv8844184819content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_2538">
Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit, which He likened to rivers of living
water flowing out of us. So when we pray in the Spirit, rivers of living water will
flow, quenching the devil’s fiery darts thrown at us!</div>
<div class="yiv8844184819content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_2539">
This happened one day when I was having supper with a church member.
Now, I don’t often pray in tongues when I say grace over my food. But that night,
I felt prompted by the Spirit to do so. So I prayed in tongues as I laid my hands
on my packet of nasi lemak (coconut-flavored rice).</div>
<div class="yiv8844184819content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_2540">
Soon, we were tucking into our food and talking when suddenly, I bit on
something hard. I spat it out quickly and realized that it was a nail! Then, I realized
that this was the reason the Lord wanted me to pray in tongues. Though the
devil was trying to “nail” me, he failed!</div>
<div class="yiv8844184819content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379993753282_2550">
My friend, put up the watery shield that God has given you. Pray in the Spirit

The whole idea is to distract the lion. You see, as powerful as the beast is, it can
be immobilized by distractions. If this man-eater is not distracted from time to
time, it might just decide to maul the trainer to death!</div>
<div class="yiv3401667167content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2338">
The devil is like the trainer. He knows that you have God’s power inside you
because the Lion of Judah is in you, and “He who is in you is greater than he who
is in the world”. So what the devil tries to do is immobilize you with distractions.</div>
<div class="yiv3401667167content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2335">
For example, he may bring to your attention a pain in your body to distract
you. And you find yourself going to a few medical journals or the Internet to find
out more about the symptoms. You also decide to consult more than one doctor.
And because you know of someone who has the same condition, you talk to him
about it.</div>
<div class="yiv3401667167content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2341">
In the end, you are distracted by the pain, the symptoms, your findings, the
doctors’ reports and your friend’s experience. And you find it hard to believe and
focus on God’s Word about your healing. You have become immobilized, powerless
and fearful.</div>
<div class="yiv3401667167content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2342">
So the devil’s trick is to get you to focus on your condition. When you are
conscious of the symptoms in your body and your findings, you will see sickness
manifest. But God wants you to focus on who you are and what you have
in Christ. When you are conscious that you are the healed in Christ, you will see
healing manifest.</div>
<div class="yiv3401667167content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2343">
My friend, what you are conscious of will manifest. So be conscious of Christ,
who is all the power of God inside you, and you will see that power manifest!</div>

Private pains, deep hurts, shameful addictions. You may think that nobody
understands what you are going through, but God does. He can identify
with all your pains and is able to help you. (Hebrews 2:18, 4:15)</div>
<div class="yiv4016026199content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2029">
In the Old Testament, the grain offering brought to God speaks of Jesus’ life
on earth. The fine flour, which the grain offering is made with, is flour that has
been pounded, ground, beaten and sifted through to get it consistently even and
fine. Therefore, it typifies the humanity and sufferings of Jesus.</div>
<div class="yiv4016026199content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2028">
One of the ways the Jewish women prepared the grain offering was to bake
it. The baking done in the depths of the oven speaks of the “hidden” sufferings
that Jesus went though. I believe that Jesus faced sufferings that we cannot fully
understand. Even as a young boy, He must have gone through sufferings that
prepared Him to die for all humanity at the cross. And during His ministry years,
it must have grieved Him when time and time again, He found unbelief not just
in the people around Him, but even in His disciples.</div>
<div class="yiv4016026199content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_2033">
Jesus also suffered at the hands of men — slanderers who misunderstood
Him. Once, the Pharisees insinuated that He was born out of wedlock because
His mother was with child before she married Joseph. (John 8:39, 41) That scandalous
remark, probably not the first, must have hurt Him.</div>
<div class="yiv4016026199content_big">
Consider also the temptations He faced. There were not only three. God’s
Word says that He was tempted for 40 days! (Luke 4:2) Not all the temptations
were recorded. Those 40 days must have tried Him sorely.</div>

My friend, Jesus went through all those temptations and sufferings for you,
yet He did not sin. (Hebrews 4:15) There is no temptation or suffering that you
are going through that He cannot identify with. So come to His throne of grace
today and receive His superabounding grace to face and overcome those trials in
your life!</div>

It is believed that there has never been a wealthier king than King Solomon.
God gave him wisdom that not only made him wise in matters of justice, but
also brought him gold and silver. (1 Kings 3:12–13)</div>

According to a report by the Illinois Society of Architects in 1925, the cost of
Solomon’s temple in terms of existing values would have been about US$87 billion!
The priests wore garments costing more than US$10 million! These amounts only
cover what Solomon spent on the temple and not his personal assets.</div>

We can go on talking about the riches of King Solomon, but the Bible tells us
that there is one greater than Solomon. (Matthew 12:42) His name is Jesus, and
He is the most prosperous Man who ever lived and who will ever live.</div>
<div class="yiv5800450469content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_1918">
If there was a need to feed the hungry, He simply multiplied whatever food
was placed in His hands. On one occasion, He multiplied five loaves and two fish
to feed 5,000 men, not counting women and children. And incredibly, there were
12 baskets full of leftovers. (Matthew 14:15–21)</div>

If any of His own faced lack, it was not long before abundant provision flowed
to them. Once, when His disciples caught nothing after a whole night of fishing,
He merely spoke a word of command and schools of fish obeyed, swimming
toward His disciples’ boat so that they received a net-breaking, boat-sinking load
of fish. (Luke 5:1–7) In another incident, He provided the money for the temple
tax, even if it took a fish to bring it to them! (Matthew 17:24–27)</div>

When you sow apple seeds, you get apples. When you sow seeds of
friendship, you get friends. If in the natural, you receive in the area in
which you sow, how much more will you receive in the supernatural
when God blesses you!</div>
<div class="yiv4288946142content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_1809">
The Bible tells us that when Isaac sowed in the land, he reaped a hundredfold
even though there was a famine in that land. (Genesis 26:1) The reason was that
“the Lord blessed him”.</div>
<div class="yiv4288946142content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_1806">
So if you are believing God for a breakthrough in a particular area, sow in
that area. A brother wrote a note to me at a conference I was preaching at in
London. He shared with me how he was one of only two employees promoted in
his department and given a substantial increase in his salary despite the economic
downturn in England and retrenchment exercise at his workplace. The sum of the
increase in his salary was “more than 10 times” what He had sowed into God’s
kingdom at the same conference the year before. It could only be the Lord blessing
him. And He “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or
think”. (Ephesians 3:20)</div>

Whatever money or time you give to the Lord, He will multiply it back to you.
For example, you have 24 hours a day like everyone else, but the Lord can make
your day very fruitful. And even after doing all that needs to be done, you will find
that you still have time left to rest.</div>
<div class="yiv4288946142content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1379264563512_1812">
Even when you have nothing to give but prayers, your prayers will not return
to you void. God can answer them exceedingly above what you have asked. When
Job lost everything that he possessed, he prayed for his friends, and the Lord not
only restored his losses, but He also “gave Job twice as much as he had before”.

In life, there is good success and bad success. Bad success is the kind of success

your health and relationships. With good success, on the other hand, you see

God wants you to enjoy good success and the key to this lies in what God
told Joshua when he took over the reins following the death of his leader

written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have

Look at how Joshua’s life turned out in the end. When Joshua died, “they
buried him within the border of his inheritance at Timnath Serah, which is in

<div class="yiv5732403398content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2261">
Would you like to know an important biblical key to divine health? It
is found in today’s verse, which comes right after God says, “I am the
Lord who heals you.” He said this to His people after He brought
them out of Egypt. (Exodus 15:26)</div>
<div class="yiv5732403398content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2264">
The wells of water and palm trees speak of refreshment. They paint a picture
of an oasis in the desert. The Israelites rested and were refreshed there. But why
the numbers 12 and 70?</div>
<div class="yiv5732403398content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2265">
There are no insignificant details in the Bible. The 12 wells of water and 70
palm trees represent anointed ministries that refresh you with God’s Word. So if
you want to know Jesus as the Lord who heals you, sit under anointed preaching
of God’s Word because when His Word goes forth, it will heal you. His Word is
medicine to all your flesh! (Proverbs 4:22)</div>
<div class="yiv5732403398content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2266">
How did I make that connection? Let the Bible interpret the Bible. Matthew
10:1 says that when Jesus had “called His <strong>twelve</strong> disciples to Him, He gave them
power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to <strong>heal</strong> all kinds of sickness and
all kinds of disease.” He sent out the 12 and said to them, “And as you go, preach,
saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ <strong>Heal</strong> the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise
the dead, cast out demons...” (Matthew 10:7–8)</div>
<div class="yiv5732403398content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2267">
Then, in Luke 10:1, the Lord “appointed <strong>seventy</strong> others also, and sent them
two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about
to go”. He also said to the 70, “And <strong>heal</strong> the sick there, and say to them, ‘The
kingdom of God has come near to you.’” (Luke 10:9)</div>
<div class="yiv5732403398content_big">
In other words, Jesus anointed the 12 and then the 70 disciples to preach
God’s Word and heal the sick. Today, if you want refreshment, if you want health
and healing, don’t sit under ministries that tell you that God doesn’t always want
to heal and that He sometimes gives you diseases to teach you lessons. Instead,
sit under anointed ministries that preach the good news and practice healing the
sick. My friend, that is how you can begin to walk in divine health!</div>

Have you ever found yourself receiving such exceeding favor that you
wonder why? My friend, it is because God is lavishing His grace —
unearned, undeserved, unmerited favor — on you. And He does it because
He loves you.</div>
<div class="yiv7322092172content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2144">
I love reading the Old Testament story of Ruth, a young Moabite widow,
because it speaks of God’s amazing grace. The moment Ruth depended on God’s
grace or favor, she had full access to His blessings. Of all the fields in Bethlehem,
His grace led her to the field that belonged to Boaz, who was not only a wealthy
bachelor, but also a relative of her father-in-law. (Ruth 2:3) Boaz was therefore
her potential kinsman-redeemer — someone who could redeem her from her
plight as a poor and childless widow.</div>
<div class="yiv7322092172content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2145">
Boaz favored Ruth from the moment he laid eyes on her. Ruth was not even a
Jew, yet he cared for her safety by telling her not to glean in another field and to
stay close to his young women. He even commanded the young men working for
him not to touch her and to allow her to drink the water which they had drawn.</div>
<div class="yiv7322092172content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2146">
During mealtimes, he sat her beside the reapers although she was just a lowly
gleaner who picked up what they had missed or dropped. On top of that, he gave
her parched grain, making sure that she ate and was satisfied, and that she had
leftovers to bring back to her mother-in-law. (Ruth 2:1–18)</div>
<div class="yiv7322092172content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2147">
Ruth simply believed that she would find favor in the field and God placed
her at the right place at the right time, so that He could open a big door of blessings
to her.</div>
<div class="yiv7322092172content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2148">
Do you know that Boaz is a beautiful picture of our Lord Jesus? The Bible says
that “He first loved us”. Jesus saw you and loved you first, long before you knew
Him or loved Him. And He favors whom He loves.</div>
<div class="yiv7322092172content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2149">
Beloved, there is no need to fight or strive to qualify for God’s favor and blessings.
His favor is all over you because He first loved you. Just trust in His love for
you and you will see His favor bringing an abundance of blessings into your life!</div>

<div class="yiv9828138550content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_1982">
A lot of people think that the way to get health is to watch what they
eat. For example, many people say that the Mediterranean diet is a very
healthy one. I agree, generally. But do you know that the people whom
Jesus healed were also on a Mediterranean diet? They did not eat pork and prawns,
for example, because they were Jews and these things are not kosher for them.</div>
<div class="yiv9828138550content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2000">
I know that you want to walk in divine health. But God does not want your
focus to be on food — what to eat, what not to eat — or even exercise — how
to exercise, when to exercise. All these are natural means which the people of the
world trust in. It is better to trust in the Lord and His finished work, than to put
your confidence in the latest man-made diet plans and exercise regimes.</div>
<div class="yiv9828138550content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2001">
At the cross, Jesus took your sicknesses and carried your pains, and by His
stripes you were healed. (Isaiah 53:4–5) The Bible even tells us how to escape
sickness and premature death — by discerning the Lord’s body when we partake
of the Lord’s Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:29–30) But instead of focusing on these
truths, many of us prefer to focus on dieting and exercising.</div>
<div class="yiv9828138550content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2002">
Now, I am not against eating well or exercising. I myself exercise and I do
watch what I eat. For example, I don’t like to eat oily stuff because it makes me
feel uncomfortable. And when I have to preach, I do my best not to eat foods that
make me burp!</div>
<div class="yiv9828138550content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2003">
But I eat generally healthy stuff not because I trust dieting to make me healthy.
I exercise not because I trust exercising to make me healthy. No, I trust the finished
work of Christ to make me healthy. I eat well because I like to feel good and
I exercise because I enjoy the rush, the sweat!</div>
<div class="yiv9828138550content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378636890079_2004">
God wants you to be free when it comes to eating and exercising. Don’t make
laws for eating and exercising, and then trust these laws to give you “divine” health.
Trust in the finished work of Christ. Discern His body when you partake of the
Holy Communion. And just enjoy your food and workout!</div>

<div class="yiv4988285070content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378394758608_2084">
What is the grace of God? Simply put, the grace of God is God blessing,
healing and delivering you because of Jesus. The grace of God is
His unearned, unmerited and undeserved favor toward you simply
because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross.</div>
<div class="yiv4988285070content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378394758608_2087">
Because God’s grace is based on Jesus’ work and not yours, the only way you
fall from this grace is by believing that you can earn, merit and deserve it through
your obedience and good works.</div>
<div class="yiv4988285070content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378394758608_2088">
For example, you fall from grace when you say, “God has to answer my prayer
because I have prayed long enough.” You also fall from grace when you think that
because you are serving in church or you have kicked a bad habit, God is pleased
with you and He has to bless you.</div>
<div class="yiv4988285070content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378394758608_2089">
When you think that it is by your efforts and obedience that you receive God’s
blessings, you become like the Pharisees. They believed that their law-keeping
justified them and ensured that God would bless them. But the truth is that when
you believe like them, “you have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt
to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace”. This means that you are cut
off from Christ, who is your salvation, Redeemer, healer and provider. Christ has
become of <strong>no effect</strong> to you!</div>
<div class="yiv4988285070content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378394758608_2090">
My friend, surely you would want Christ to be of effect to you. People to
whom Christ is of effect receive from Him the miracle they need. When He is <strong>of
effect</strong> to them, He is their healer and they get healed. He is their wisdom and they
are wise before man. He is their good success and they experience good success
in all that they do.</div>
<div class="yiv4988285070content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378394758608_2091">
Beloved, for Christ to always be of effect to you and to never nullify the grace
of God operating in your life, just remember and believe that it is because of
Christ and His finished work — His blood, His stripes, His death, His obedience
— that you are justified, healed and blessed!</div>

Unless you are more than 2,000 years old, all your sins were future then! Jesus
took them all upon Himself, nailed them to the cross and declared, “It is finished!”
So if you are not forgiven of <strong>all</strong>, then you are not forgiven at all.</div>

But many of us are inconsistent in our believing. One part of us says, “God has

Beloved, you are forgiven not because of your work of confession. Your confession

Is there a place for confession of sins? My friend, if you have just sinned, you
can always tell God about it without feeling condemned because you know that
you <strong>already have</strong> forgiveness and that Jesus was condemned in your place. But
you don’t confess your sins to God in order to be forgiven. You already have total
and complete forgiveness because of the blood of Jesus!</div>

My friend, God doesn’t want you to be fearful, fretful or anxious. Instead,
He wants you to “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer
and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known
to God”.</div>
<div class="yiv0261568559content_big" id="yui_3_7_2_1_1378180706466_2651">
So when you have a care or worry, straightaway, turn that care or worry into
prayer. That is supplication. And when you are troubled by a care or worry that
you don’t know how to pray for, pray in the Spirit or tongues. And in the midst
of that prayer, thank God that He is already your healing, provision, good success
and victory. That, my friend, is thanksgiving.</div>

Keep on praying. Pray in the Spirit until the worry lifts or dissipates, “and
the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and
minds through Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 4:7)</div>

This was what one of our church members did when he found himself anxiously
trying to access some important data in his USB flash drive. After a whole
day at it with no results, he finally stopped himself from being anxious and instead,
turned his worry into prayer, asking the Lord to settle it for him. As he prayed in
tongues, he was also thankfully repeating in his heart that having the Holy Spirit
— the Helper — with him was to his advantage. (John 16:7)</div>
<div class="yiv0261568559content_big">
Later that evening, using his wife’s computer, he succeeded in accessing the
data in his flash drive after a few attempts. He quickly backed up the data. It was
only when subsequent attempts to use the flash drive on his wife’s computer failed
did it suddenly dawn on him that God had “resurrected” his flash drive that one
time, just for him to recover his data!</div>

Beloved, I believe that we would all worry a lot less and enjoy our lives a lot more
if only we realized this truth: Our Abba Father is so strong that there is nothing He
cannot do, and He is so loving that there is nothing He will not do for us!</div>
